"Amy The Girl" - Blue's Crew Press Wench

Amy “The Girl” Chantry’s paintball story begins in 1998. Her husband, JR, had already been playing for a year when an event happening in Pennsylvania caught their eye. EMR Paintball Park was hosting the 1st Quest for Holy Grail. Being a Monty Python fan, she thought she would tag along with her husband and his friends and try this crazy game called paintball! She was handed a Stingray (can you IMAGINE!) and told to “keep up”! The event was held in June. By her birthday in July, (on the 21st in case you care!) she was receiving presents such as a Tippmann and goggles! Whoo hoo! A paintball queen was born. She and her husband started team Demaskus shortly after and they started traveling to other big games. But nothing ever compared to the fun they had at EMR. They decided to make EMR their home field, even though the team is mostly comprised of Connecticut residents. EMR had left its mark on Team Demaskus, but Amy had left her own mark there as well. During the 1st Holy Grail, she managed to stump the Troll on the Bridge and send him to the Dead Zone. The next year, she played the Troll on the Bridge. Then there is the incident with the Killer White Rabbit…she got him grenaded when she flashed her lip tattoo on the field. Yes, never trust a girl on the field! At the fall Castle Conquest in 2000, she got her first taste of defending the Castle. She has never been an attacker again! Amy likes to say Team Demaskus is the only EMR home team that exclusively defends. As with any new player, Amy avidly read any and all paintball publications and was increasingly disappointed with the coverage of the games. With her “I can do this better and will” attitude that you have to know to love, she typed up an article on a game she attended and submitted it. She became published for the 1st time in December of 1999 and hasn’t looked back since. She has been published in every paintball publication before settling on APG. She has since left APG and now writes the monthly column “what the locals do” for the Northeast section of Paintball 2Xtremes. She also has a monthly online column called “What girls want” which is part of the BustNBalls Website. After hearing about Blue’s Crew, she knew she had to be a part of it and offered her services as Press for the team. Now dubbed the Press Wench, you can see her with the rest of Blue’s Crew at the schedule events this coming year. Hope to see you out there on the field!
