Joe "Kernel" Jansen
Joe Jansen played his first paintball game in 1995 at the age of 17. Armed with a stingray (yes a stingray) he had purchased from a friend, the addiction began. After playing rec ball for a couple of years he ran into some local tournament paintball players at the first skyball (1998) and decided to step up his game and join the Chaos All-Stars competition paintball team. The rest is history. Joe (now know as "Kernel" to some of his closest friends) worked his way up and has now been the captain of the team for 3 years.
In 1998 Joe met Mike Hanse at a local (for him) tournament known as Blizzard ball, and got extremely interested in big games. Later in 1998 Joe took up reffing at his local field, Ultimate Adventures, and then got into reffing big games and tournaments. In 1999 Joe and friends Chris Bragg, Jerry Nowak and Tom Wagner, started bringing some fellow reffs down to EMR and Canadian Justice was born. Ever since then Joe and the rest of his Canadian reffs have been attending every main event at EMR, and making many, many friends in the process. Joe can be found at every EMR castle event somewhere in the walls covered in paint.
Blue invited Joe to join up with Blues Crew and there was no hesitation there at all. He looks forward to playing along side the rest of the crew at the events they attend because for a 2nd (or 3rd) time he doesn’t have to reff!
