Chris "Deuce" Hanse


Chris “Deuce” Hanse began playing paintball in 1989. He had been begging his dad, Blue Hanse, to play since he was 3 years old. His first paintball game was on his 9th birthday at Hanse Hollow in Chambersburg, PA. This opportunity was the start of a developing paintball career. At the age of 10, he started helping his father run games at Hanse Hollow and by age 11 was reffing groups and helping with cleanup.

Chris began working a lot morein paintball when he moved to New Milford, PA with his family in 1992. He worked many hours a week at Adventure World, formally Wolf’s Lair and currently E.M.R. Paintball Park, where he refereed and did odd jobs around the field. He got his first taste of the Paintball industry when he attended the IAO in Pittsburgh for the first time that same summer.

Chris continued to work in paintball but switched gears when in 1994, he began working at Montneel Designs. Montneel Designs was a paintball gun manufacturer, creators of the Z-1, Mega-Z and Victory Z. Once again he attended paintball events, helping to run the booth, up and down the east coast ranging from the Wasaga Beach Blitz in Ontario to Wayne Dollack’s Scenario games in the northeast to World Cup in Orlando, Fl. He also helped put together guns and did odd jobs for Montneel Designs for the next 2 years.

In 1996, Chris and his family purchased E.M.R. Paintball Park. Chris became the head referee for the field that year, . By 1997 Chris was head refereeing and coordinating all of E.M.R’s big events. In 1998 Chris became E.M.R.’s Field Manager while also beginning his freshman year at East Stroudsburg University. He is currently the full time Field Manager, Big Game Coordinator and Part Owner of E.M.R.

During his time in paintball, Chris Hanse has attended many big games, tournaments and paintball industry conferences throughout the country. Included with these are: International Amateur Open and corresponding Industry conferences, Sky Ball in Toronto, Blizzard Ball in London, World Cup in Orlando, Michigan Monster Games, West Point Big Games in NY, Paintball Depot in NJ, Fireball Mt in NJ, Wasaga Beach Blitz in Ontario, Survival in New York, Coram big games, Poppa’s Plantation in MD, CPX Splatt attack in Chicago, MXS Camp Blanding MOUT training facility big game in Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Splatter in PA, Wayne Dollack Scenario Games in PA, World Record games in PA, Foxhole, Paintball Sports Arena in Pittsburgh PA.

He has played with the following teams: Jabba’s Gentleman, Flying Pigs, Porn Lords, Armored Saints (97-2000), Freaks of Nature (2002-03), and currently plays for and is the captain off Deuce’s Wild”. Deuce is also Co Captain of the nationally recognized team Blue’s Crew and takes care of coordinating their schedule and traveling arrangements.
